Hello lovelies!
It’s time for WWW Wednesday! This meme was originally hosted by A Daily Rhythm but was revived by Sam from Taking on a World of Words. It’s a place to talk about the books you’ve been reading, plan to read and have read. I don’t usually keep track of my reading, except for my Goodreads Challenge, but I’ve found this meme to be really helpful with keeping me on track.

To take part all you have to do is answer the following questions:
What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What are you going to read next?
Currently Reading

After a disastrous week of reading that included not only a DNF for a book I had been highly anticipating but also a full blown reading slump I’ve decided to change things up and avoid fantasy for the near future.
I’ve recently started a re-read of Truly, Madly, Guilty by one of my all-time favourite authors: Liane Moriarty. The book has been a breath of fresh air from the fantasy phase I was just on and in light of that I decided to start an upcoming ARC called Love Lettering. It’s romance, which is usually my favourite genre. The combo of light and fluffy and mystery have been exactly what I needed to cure my reading slump.
Nen is currently on a fantasy kick still and enjoying the latest ARC from Eoin Colfer: High Fire. Grumpy dragons, humid swamps and an entrepreneurial teen feature in this adult fantasy novel. What’s not to like about that?
Recently Finished

Last week’s reading included a DNF for We Set the Dark on Fire as well as a low rating for Everything My Mother Taught Me by the acclaimed Alice Hoffman. It was a very slow and unsatisfying week of reading but oh, well. Onwards and upwards!
Reading Next

After my absolute delight in reading Things You Save in a Fire I’ve been highly anticipating reading Katherine Center’s previous novel How to Walk Away. Hopefully all goes well! I’ve also used the same method (choosing an author I enjoy reading) in With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo (see my review of The Poet X here). When in a reading slump I revert back to re-reads, romance and established authors that I love. Does anyone else do this?

One of these days, I would love to pick a book you two are reading and read with you! You both have such great taste in books!

THANK YOU R A I N ❤ 😀 Love lettering is seriously sweet. I wasn't expecting to adore it as much as I am. I requested it for the cover but the MC is delightful to read about ❤ Liane Moriarty is like my author idol… she's so kind in person and her writing keeps me on my toes. It's not overly dark or graphic but rather SO INTRIGUING. I never know what's going on until the end 😛 We Set the Dark on Fire was such a miss for me. I was so looking forward to it but had a hard time connecting with the MC. She drove me crazy! But, the writing was so well done besides for that, so I'm looking forward to trying more novels by her in future 😀 Jen

It’s such a shame as I was so looking forward to it. I think that it’s mainly the MC that didn’t quite sit right with me. I found her very irritating to read but the actual writing by Mejia was so good!! I’m eager to try another of her books as I think I’ll enjoy it a lot more 😀 Jen

I hope you enjoy your current and future reads more than you did the ones you finished (or DNF’d). I’m still sorry to hear that We Set the Dark on Fire was a DNF for you 😦 That’s really disappointing…
I can’t wait to read WTFOH and How to Walk Away! I feel like waiting to be in the right mood for both though but don’t know when that’ll ever come around 😅 Have a great reading week, Jen & Nen!

HAHA I know the feeling Mani – it’s not always easy to pick up books if you’re not quite feeling in the mood for the genre or they’re hard to get ahold of in the first place. I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it 😀 Jen
