Hi all,
We were nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award by one of our favourite bloggers, Emer from A Little Haze Book Blog. Her posts and reviews are always delightfully honest and entertaining. Seriously, if you haven’t checked out her blog yet, GO NOW. It’s great!

We’re a bit late in posting this but better late than never, right?

Taken from Emer’s post:
The Origins of the Real Neat Blog Award
Before I answer the questions I did a little googling to try and find the origins of this award and the earliest reference I can find to it goes all the way back to 2014 and to a blog called Dear Kitty, Some Blog.
The award came about as a way to highlight bloggers that need more attention because of their awesome content on their blogs and the first logo ever created for the award is this one that I found on the same Dear Kitty, Some Blog page:

The Rules:
- Display the Award Logo.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
- Answer the questions of the one who nominated you.
- Nominate some bloggers.
- Ask them seven questions.

Emer’s Questions:
What country that you have not yet visited would you like to go to?
Jen: I would love to see Canada. I’m a massive hockey fan, so that’s the first reason. When you add in the food, culture and natural sites that look absolutely stunning (on Google haha) it’s definitely somewhere I’m dying to visit!
Nen: New Zealand has been on my list for a loooong time and I can’t wait to finally see it! You could probably guess why…
What is your favourite flower?
Jen: I adore carnations! They’re so ruffly and pretty. They remind me of dress skirts with dozens of layers of tule! What’s not to love about that??
Nen: I’m not too fussy about flowers but I do like roses (typical, I know) and calla lilies. My mum grows so many calla lilies, it’s impossible not to love them!
If you could go back in time, to which time period would you choose to visit?
Jen – Easy peasy… I’d go back to 1912 in England (upper class, of course). I know, I know… there are plagues and all sorts of weird diseases (Nen frequently mentions this) but look at the pretty dresses! And the architecture! I’d give up modern med for living like I was in Downton Abbey!
Nen – There are so many I’d love to visit, I talk about it all the time – but I am mindful of the wars and diseases, I’d like to not die. I’m going to say Athens during the Golden Age (480 – 400 BCE) though. I think I’ve driven my whole family crazy by now with how often I mention Greece. I love ancient history and I would love to see Delphi!
Do you believe we are alone in the universe?
Jen – Not even slightly. I mean, we’re here right? What are the odds that in 200 billion galaxies there are no other abnormalities and life forms?
Nen – At the very least there must be other prokaryotes somewhere out there…but I’m not too keen on meeting any of those after seeing the ones we have here!
What is your all time favourite meal? (Include drinks, side orders, desserts etc. etc. Calories do not apply!!!!)
Jen – Chicken Pad Thai. Hands down. I love it so, so, so, so much! I also love peanut butter and ice-cream but those are close runners up.
Nen – I love Italian. Pizza, pasta, whatever! You can’t go wrong with Italian. Jen is teaching me more about other cuisines though, she’s a pro!
If you were writing the book of your life what title would you give it?
Jen – Ooh this is a hard one! Maybe I’d go with a one word title. Simple but effective? I’d call it Storm.
Nen – I’m the absolute worst when it comes to naming things, just ask Jen! In fact, I’d probably get her to name it now that I think about it.
What is the blog post you are most proud of writing? Share a link to it.
Jen – I think it would have to be the first post I ever wrote. That was so scary to publish but exhilarating! I’m so glad I decided to do this and have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful bloggers!
Nen: Aw man, there goes the sentimental answer haha! I think we’re proud of all of them, in a way. But I’ll say the first ARC we received.

As always, we had a hard time choosing people to tag for this. Everyone’s blog is wonderful and deserves an award! If you’re not keen on doing tags or awards, that’s fine. There’s no obligation to do this if you’re tagged 🙂
Our Questions:
- What name have you always wanted to have, other than your own?
- What is your favourite type of character?
- What holiday do you look forward to the most, every year?
- What type of blog post do you enjoy writing the most?
- If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, which would it be?
- If you could interview any author, who would you choose?
- The cutest animal in the world is….?

I’d love to go to New Zealand! I went to Canada once but it was right on the border of Minnesota, US so I didn’t obviously see anything cool, lol.

Aww! Thank you so much for nominating me! What a surprise!
I loved y’alls answers by the way! Though, I can tell you Jen that I’ve been to Canada before, and I remember having to climb down this wall of rocks to get to the beach once. Hours later, the sea level rose so much that we didn’t have to climb down anymore. It was also cold for August. (But I’m used to Texas humidity following me around.)
Also, Italian food is great food. I honestly should know more about Italian food since I do have Italian blood in me, but instead I know a lot about American fast food chains.
