Hello lovelies!
It’s time for WWW Wednesday! This meme was originally hosted by A Daily Rhythm but was revived by Sam from Taking on a World of Words. It’s a place to talk about the books you’ve been reading, plan to read and have read. I don’t usually keep track of my reading, except for my Goodreads Challenge, but I’ve found this meme to be really helpful with keeping me on track.

To take part all you have to do is answer the following questions:
What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What are you going to read next?
Currently Reading

Jen – I’m currently reading two ARCs, Undertones and Followers. Despite their bright and colourful covers, these books have some darker themes that match my current reading mood. They’re gritty, decently paced and interesting!
Nen – The Grisha Trilogy is what I’m currently reading. I mainly picked up the first book in prep for watching the show (Ben Barnes!) but I’m enjoying the story so far. The Darkling is an interesting character that has me eager to see where the story leads, and I absolutely love Bardugo’s world!
Recently Finished

Jen – I’ve had a slow week so my reading has gone up to about a book a day. The stand-outs for this week were I Wish You All the Best and Good Luck Girls with five stars and four stars, respectively. They were completely different books but their characters really caught me in the FEELS. The Upside of Falling Down was a fun, mysterious romance that had the amnesia trope (one I’m always a fan of) plus some super-sweet moments at the end. Girls of Paper and Fire was an interesting read with fantastic world-building. The low points of my week were The Winner’s Curse and We Met in Dec. The first was problematic and a bit offending for me to read while with the latter I just didn’t connect well with the characters. Reviews on those I haven’t published yet will be up soon (I’ve been lazy this week haha)!
Nen – I’ve just got back from holiday so I haven’t read anything recently. I’m keen to get back in to it though!
Reading Next

Jen – The next books on my list are Bury the Lede, a graphic novel ARC I’m really excited about (see why here) and two other novels that caught my eye during my recent library haul. Renegades seems like the perfect fantasy to round out my week and We Are Not Okay is toted as being an exploration of bullying’s affects on youth and is a story I’m keen to try!

Nen – I’m on a Leigh Bardugo kick right now, so King of Scars definitely caught my eye at the library during our latest trip! Now, I’ll be honest, when I saw the pretty sword on the cover I knew I had to snatch up There Will Come a Darkness too. The blurb had me hooked and I can’t wait to read something new. But in the mean time, the mythology nerd in me is losing her mind. I’ve had Circe sitting on my shelf for a while now and I’ll finally be able to give it a go!

// have you read any of the books on my WWW this week? what were your thoughts on them? //
Circe is absolutely amazing ! It has to be in my top 5 books I read this year. I hope you’ll enjoy it 😘

Aww thank you so much Willow! It took us a while to get the hang of it. We see the WWW as kind of our weekly wrap- up so it helps to keep us organised. I’m glad it helped to inspire your own! I’ll check it out now 😄 Jen

Thanks Sarah! Followers seems interesting. I like reading books that follow characters over a longer period of time, so hopefully Followers does that aspect of it well 😀 Jen

I also read We Met in December and had the same problem. I didn’t care for the characters and even the plot was eh.

I’m glad it’s not just me! It took forever (well… it felt like it) for me to finish this one. I kept putting it down and not being interested in picking it back up again 😛

Love that unique cover of There Will Come A Darkness! Also nice to see someone reading Undertones, I’ve been thinking about it myself. You two have been reading up a storm, awesome! 🙂

It’s an epic cover. Nen and I went to the library and her eyes were practically glued to it as soon as we walked past the shelf. Yeah, Undertones is not normally something I’d read but I’m giving it a try. Hopefully its as strange and interesting as it sounds 🙂 Jen
