WWW Wednesday – #6

Hello lovelies!

It’s time for WWW Wednesday! This meme was originally hosted by A Daily Rhythm but was revived by Sam from Taking on a World of WordsIt’s a place to talk about the books you’ve been reading, plan to read and have read. I don’t usually keep track of my reading, except for my Goodreads Challenge, but I’ve found this meme to be really helpful with keeping me on track.

To take part all you have to do is answer the following questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Currently Reading

I’ve been looking forward to The Good Luck Girls for a while now! I received an ARC for this book and I’ve only seen positive reviews on it so far, which is encouraging! I generally prefer to stay away from reviews until I’ve read the book but I couldn’t help myself in this case. Joanna Nicole over at The Geekish Brunette wrote a lovely review for it and I’m keen to find out my own opinions on the story’s romantic and supernatural elements!

I’m currently half way through The Winner’s Curse and I can say with assurance that it’s not a smooth ride. While the writing, pacing and world-building are all pretty good so far the main character Kestrel gets on my nerves SO BAD. Hopefully she has some character growth before the book’s ending. I read a fantastic review of Girls of Paper and Fire by Brittany over at The Book Guru and immediately added it to my TBR! It’s next up on my reading schedule.

Recently Finished

This was a pretty great week of reading for me! The lowest review was three and a half stars with The Earl’s Christmas Pearl, which was an adorably festive early Christmas read. These Rebel Waves peaked my rating experience this week with a solid 5-Stars. I cannot wait to read These Divided Shores!

I’ve just finished doing a Buddy Read with the lovely Ngoc over at Nish & Ngoc’s Book Nook so a discussion review of These Broken Stars will be up sometime this week (probably tomorrow if I’m not feeling too lazy haha).

Reading Next

Next up on my ARC list is We Met in December. I was initially attracted to this book by the cute graphic cover and premise that promises a cute, wintery romance. I’ve read some quite mixed reviews on it though (I knowww… I have a weakness when it comes to reading them. Especially considering my dislike of spoilers!).

I Wish You All the Best has been on my radar for a while now and I’m so excited to give it a try! With my fantasy and historical romance phase lately I’ve missed some good ol’ teenage angst, sexual exploration and general goodness. These books usually leave me feeling happy so I can’t wait!

// have you read any of the books on my WWW this week? what were your thoughts on them? //

  1. I love the color palette of your currently reading! :’) Girls of Paper and Fire was SO good! I’m hoping to start the ARC of the sequel soon because I’m definitely ready to get back into that world

    • Thanks Nikki! My eyes caught on to these books and I couldn’t resist them ❤ Ooh you've got an ARC for the second book? I hope it lives up to the first!

  2. lol. I forgot it’s Wednesday and time for this meme again. 🙂 You did a pretty good reading even though they’re not 5-star rated books. I’m excited to read your thoughts on These Broken Stars. It’s in my TBR for ages. 🙂

  3. So many books! I can’t wait to hear what you think of The Good Luck Girls. I read another review alongside Joanna’s earlier today and it sounds so unique. Probably not something that I probably would’ve picked up myself had I not seen these reviews? I’m keen to try it though!
Unfortunately for me, I didn’t love GoPaF as much as everyone else seemed to. I hope you enjoy it though! Happy reading, Jen 🙂

    • I’m starting The Good Luck Girls. I’ve heard its got a Western vibe which I’ve never read before so I’m keen to see how that turns out! I’ve been reading GoPaF for an hour now and I’m enjoying the writing itself, it’s wonderfully descriptive, but DAMN there are some trigger warnings in here I wish I’d been fully aware of. Honestly, why don’t books come with labels? 😛

  4. Ahhh, yay, I’m so excited that you’re going to read Girls of Paper and Fire! Thank you so much for linking my review ♥ I really hope you love it! I also read I Wish You All the Best a couple of months ago and really liked it, too! Happy reading!! ♥

  5. Oooh, The Winner’s Curse is one of my fave trilogies of all time but I do remember being quite frustrated with Kestrel at first – she grew on me HEAPS as the series progressed though! I’d even say she’s one of my fave female fictional leads 😛 Can’t wait to see what you think when you finish!

Also that buddy read was so much fun & I hope we get the chance to do another one some time (maybe when we’re not both struggling with uni hahaha 😂)
